Aemet declares a high temperature alert throughout the weekend in the Balearic Islands.
Thermometers will range between 36 and 40 degrees

PalmThe heat warnings issued by the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) throughout the week will extend to the entire archipelago this Saturday, with particular emphasis on inland areas and the south of Mallorca, Ibiza, and Formentera. The warning is orange due to temperatures that could reach 40°C.
According to information from Aemet, a yellow heat warning will be issued this Friday afternoon for virtually all of Mallorca, with the exception of the Tramuntana mountains, and for the entire Pitiusas. In the case of Mallorca, maximum temperatures are expected to be between 36 and 38 degrees, although in places such as Marratxí and Binissalem, temperatures could climb to 39 degrees. In the Pitiusas, highs of around 36 degrees are expected.
The worst is expected on Saturday, when the warning will be raised to orange in inland and southern Mallorca and the Pitiusas, with temperatures reaching up to 40 degrees in some inland areas. In the rest of the archipelago, including Menorca, temperatures will range between 36 and 38 degrees. As for Sunday, the State Meteorological Agency has also extended the orange warning for high temperatures in Mallorca and the Pitiusas.
Specifically, according to the information consulted by Aemet (National Meteorological Agency), the inland and south of Mallorca, as well as Ibiza and Formentera, will be under an orange warning this Saturday between 12:00 and 18:59 due to temperatures that in some areas could reach 40 degrees.
The north and east of Mallorca, as well as Menorca, will be under a yellow warning for maximum values between 36 and 38 degrees. Ibiza and Formentera could reach 39 degrees Celsius, while in inland and southern Mallorca, the mercury could reach 40 degrees Celsius in some places. The rest of Mallorca will end the week under a yellow warning, with a maximum temperature of around 37 degrees Celsius.
