The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has issued an orange warning for rain from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. this Thursday in Ibiza and Formentera, anticipating the accumulation of around 100 liters per square meter in three or four hours. The warning, therefore, is not due to the specific intensity of the rain—which could reach 40 liters per hour—but rather due to its persistence over time.

The situation remains unchanged from the Wednesday midday forecast: the heaviest rain is expected to begin at 7 a.m. and continue until approximately 6 p.m. The forecast indicates that during these twelve hours of orange warning, it could rain continuously.

The latest forecast issued this Wednesday afternoon already indicates the beginning of cloud formation and heavy rain over the Iberian Peninsula, which will move towards Valencia and Castellón. This episode is what will lead to Dana Alice in the coming hours, affecting the eastern part of the Iberian Peninsula and the Balearic Islands. It will continue to develop over the next few days, leading up to Sunday.
