The Manacor Hospital will cost much more than planned
The works of Manacor Hospital increase in cost by more than 15 million euros and will be extended by 13 months to adapt to regulations and improve facilities
ManacorThe works at Manacor Hospital will cost more than 15.5 million more than planned and will last more than a year longer. The Governing Council has authorized the modification of the works for the renovation and expansion for an amount of 15,685,915.52 euros and an extension of the works execution period of thirteen months.
This modification of the works is motivated by the need to adapt the project to current regulations regarding heat production facilities (including aerothermal production), the modification of air conditioner characteristics, the dimensions of pipes and ducts. It also includes the modification of the sanitation connection point and the replacement of telecommunications data cabling.
Therefore, it is necessary to process a procedure to modify this contract, in accordance with current regulations on public administration procurement.
The Master Plan for Manacor Hospital, which will involve an investment of 59 million euros, foresees the construction of a new outpatient building, a facilities or industrial building, and a new surgical and obstetrics block.
This project, which will change the center's appearance with three simultaneous expansion and renovation actions of nearly 40,000 m2, will benefit a population of 150,000 people.
