The PSIB denounces the "chaos" in the Department of Tourism and calls Marcial Rodríguez "incompetent."
The Socialists accuse the Popular Party of creating more tourist spots.

The PSIB of the Consell de Mallorca (Mallorca Council) denounced this Tuesday the "chaos" that, in its opinion, exists in the Department of Tourism and the "incompetence" of the minister who heads it, José Marcial Rodríguez. "He is incompetent and we are very concerned about his management of his department. The Consell has not done, nor does it intend to do, absolutely anything to combat mass tourism," stressed the Socialist spokesperson, Catalina Cladera.
Cladera also referred to the 1,570 tourist places, including those intended for vacation rentals, hotels, and hotels in listed buildings, which will go on sale this month in Mallorca. "They create more beds and more tourist attractions when that's not what it's all about. Mallorca needs to set limits," he lamented.
On the other hand, he also highlighted the discontent of the citizens and the tourism sector with the management of the island institution because, as he stated, "neither the president of the Consell, Llorenç Galmés, nor Marcial Rodríguez have been able to negotiate and dialogue" with the workers.
Regarding the data of thereport Regarding the illegal tourist rentals filed last week by Rodríguez, which determined that four out of ten tourist homes advertised in Mallorca are illegal, Cladera considered that an action plan to combat this type of irregular activity is lacking. Similarly, it has demanded that illegal listings be automatically removed from tourist rental platforms, as well as the precautionary closure of all illegal properties identified by the Tourism Department.
Political use of migrants
On the other hand, the socialist has attacked the PP's migration policy in both the Consell and the Catalan government, considering that they are making "political use" of unaccompanied migrant minors. "What they do is create more space for hate speech against migrants and give space to the far right," lamented Cladera, who accused Galmés of "having no scruples" when taking "photos in front of boats, in which people have died."
In this sense, she demanded a change of course from the PP on migration issues and also criticized the Balearic institutions' rejection of the distribution of migrant minors from other communities. "What do 50 minors mean when they sell millions of tourists every year?" she asked.
