Two attended for smoke inhalation in a fire at the old Palma prison
To the scene of the events, several units of the Palma Firefighters and the Local Police have moved.
PalmaThe left wing of the second floor of the old Palma prison suffered a fire this Wednesday, around 3:50 PM, as a result of which two people required medical attention for smoke inhalation. Several units from the Palma Firefighters, who extinguished the fire, and agents from the Immediate Intervention Unit of the Palma Local Police were dispatched to the scene.
At the scene, two people were treated for smoke inhalation and one was transferred to the Son Espases University Hospital in Palma. As a result of the fire, the Consistory's Social Services will rehouse the two people who occupied the affected premises, sources from Cort have specified.
Precisely, this Wednesday the City Council announced that, once the 200 people living in the prison are evicted, it will promote a new residential complex with more than a hundred endowment homes.
