Menorcan Cheese Factory receives the ARA Balears Award for Economic Initiative
The jury recognizes the recovery of a key company for the Menorcan productive fabric, which has overcome years of uncertainty and has returned to grow with stability, investment and employment
PalmaQuesería Menorquina has been distinguished with the ARA Balears award for Economic Initiative, a recognition of the recovery and transformation trajectory of one of the most emblematic companies in the agri-food sector of the Islands.
Heir to the historic El Caserío, the company is part of Menorca's collective memory and the island's economic landscape. Its recent history, however, has been marked by years of financial difficulties and uncertainty, during which the future of the project was in doubt.
The jury has wanted to highlight the perseverance of the workers, the management team, and the new investors who bet on keeping alive a strategic industry for Menorca. The confidence has finally borne fruit: the company has regained stability, returned to profitability, and launched a new era of modernization and growth.
Currently, the company employs 155 people and exports processed products from Menorca to both the domestic market and abroad, consolidating it as a benchmark of competitiveness and added value within the food industry.
The award also highlights the commitment to strengthening the link with the Menorcan dairy sector and the territory. The recovery of the processing of milk produced on the island is considered a strategic bet to guarantee the future of Menorcan agriculture and move towards a more rooted and sustainable economy.
The recognition places special emphasis on the work of the current management, led by Paco Tutzó, and on the impetus of Eduard Soriano and the entire new management team. The jury considers that their vision and determination have been decisive in reviving a project that is part of the business heritage of the Balearic Islands.
With this award, ARA Balears recognizes this year an example of transformative capacity, territorial roots, and confidence in the future.
