The Balearic Islands have already received almost nine million tourists during 2025.

Spending in the Archipelago amounts to 11.525 billion euros

PalmThe Balearic Islands welcomed 8,990,482 tourists between January and July, a 3.2% increase. During their stay on the island, they spent €11.525 billion, representing a 4.8% increase compared to the first seven months of last year, according to data published this Monday by the National Statistics Institute (INE).

In July alone, 2,566,441 tourists arrived in the Balearic Islands, 1% more than in July 2024. They spent €3.833 billion, 1.6% more than last year, according to surveys on traveler arrivals (Frontur) and tourist spending.

Overall, the Balearic Islands were the main destination for tourists in July, accounting for 23.3% of all those who traveled to Spain. They also accounted for the most spending, with €3.833 billion, a year-on-year increase of 1.6%.

Average spending per tourist rose 0.6% to €1,493 in the Balearic Islands in July; and daily spending per person rose 9.6% to €242. However, the average stay in the archipelago fell 8.3% to 6.2 days.

The main destination autonomous communities with the greatest share of tourist spending in July were the Balearic Islands (accounting for 23.3% of the total), Catalonia (20%), and the Valencian Community (13.5%). Tourist spending has increased by 1.6% year-on-year in the Balearic Islands; by 5.2% in Catalonia; and by 8.3% in the Valencian Community.

In the first seven months of 2025, the regions with the highest cumulative spending were the Canary Islands (with 18.5% of the total), Catalonia (18.2%), and the Balearic Islands (15.3%).
