PalmMore than 300 musicians from six groups participated this Sunday in the traditional Holy Week band gathering held in the Patio de los Hombres (Men's Courtyard) of the La Misericordia Cultural Center. Hundreds of spectators came throughout the morning to listen to processional marches and repertoires linked to this musical tradition. The day began at 10:30 a.m. with a performance by the Nuestra Señora de la Esperanza y la Paz (Our Lady of Hope and Peace) Musical Group. Also performing were the Santa Mónica Band, the Esencia Musical Group, the Selva Municipal Band, the Ntre. Padre Jesús de la Humildad (Our Father Jesus of Humility) Musical Group, and the Ntre. Padre Jesús del Gran Poder (Our Father Jesus of Great Power) Musical Group. Throughout the morning, the cultural center's courtyard was transformed into a stage dedicated to the music of Holy Week processions, with performances that combined traditional repertoire and pieces commonly used in the processions.

The event is part of the cultural program leading up to Holy Week and brings together various musical groups from Mallorca each year, who regularly participate in the processions of different municipalities on the island.

In addition to this concert, the program of activities includes other musical performances in different churches in the Part Forana (rural areas) and various cultural events related to Holy Week. A highlight is the Easter Concert scheduled at the Teatre Principal in Palma, featuring a performance by the Requiem Mass by Gaetano Donizetti, conducted by Xisco Bonnín.

The program is rounded out with exhibitions and activities linked to the Holy Week tradition, many also located in the same La Misericordia Cultural Center.
