The Santa Eugenia Performing Arts Showcase returns with 13 performances, workshops, and a moving tribute.
The City Council criticizes the fact that the Mallorca Council has not allocated any aid for two years.

PalmSanta Eugenia is preparing to host the 26th edition of the Performing Arts Festival from September 4th to 6th. This year, the festival has a budget of €33,000 and maintains its characteristic participatory, supportive, and multidisciplinary spirit. The City Council emphasized the difficulty of sustaining a cultural event of this magnitude without supra-municipal support and criticized the fact that the Consell de Mallorca has not provided any subsidy for two years. Even so, the council and the town's community have made this new edition of an event possible, filling streets, squares, and rural spaces with culture and community.
The program kicks off on Thursday the 4th at the Teatre de Barra, one of the most anticipated events, which sold out in just two days this year. During the bar crawl, the public will be able to enjoy a photography exhibition dedicated to Maria Gràcia Moragues Cantallops, the exhibition's artistic director for a decade and the driving force behind the project from the very beginning, who passed away last November.
On Friday the 5th, the sports center will host a circus playroom and games from Circ Bover, as well as a circus cabaret organized by the Association of Circus Professionals of the Balearic Islands (APCIB) in tribute to Moragues. The evening will conclude with a clown show. ONLY, awarded at the national level, and a concert under the stars with the artist Miss Loopita.
Among other activities, on Saturday the 6th there will be the Cuartelada Teatral (Theatrical Cuartelada), a scenic tour of various venues in the town with companies from Mallorca, Catalonia, and France. The show will be repeated in the evening. ONLY The closing ceremony will feature electronic music by Lisa Vinylista and local DJ Alec Sun.
This year, the festival offers 13 performances and two workshops, with companies from the Canary Islands, Catalonia, France, and England. Almost all activities are free or charity events, and the proceeds go to social projects like the Siloé association.
