A private university questioned by the General Council of Nursing promoted itself with the image of the Government

PalmaA private university in Costa Rica operating since 2024, Mundae Universidad, has promoted its Nursing degree using the Balearic Government logo as a collaborating entity. It appeared in its official student recruitment dossier until this Wednesday, while on the website it was removed at the request of IB-Salut, which claims it knew nothing about it. This is a center whose validity was questioned by the General Nursing Council (CGE) in a public warning. Mundae has denied this information and has assured that it currently does not use any of the mentioned logos in any document or section of its website, although it did appear in the dossier consulted yesterday by ARA Balears. The university admits that in the past it included the IB-Salut logo by mistake following a specific collaboration with the Menorca Health Area. It also says that the current relationship with the CGE "is cordial".

The degree or bachelor's program it markets is aimed mainly at Spanish students. In its official student recruitment dossier, it presents various private entities as collaborators, and only two public ones: the Balearic Islands Health Department and the Alt Penedès-Garraf Health Consortium. In addition, it adds the official logo of the Government of the Balearic Islands at the end of the document.

The CGE, which brings together more than 345,000 nurses in Spain, warned in February 2025 that this qualification might not be internationally valid nor recognized in Spain. The organization also alerted the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities to the situation.

The IB-Salut says it knew nothing about it

Sources from IB-Salut state that neither the Ministry of Health, nor the Health Service, nor Primary Care have any agreement with Mundae Universidad to train their professionals. According to them, at a certain point they detected that the Government's logo appeared in the university center's advertising and they contacted Mundae to ask for explanations and demand its removal.

IB-Salut sent a formal communication to the center in which it warned that there was no justification for its logo to appear in this material. Sources from the Health Service point out that Mundae subsequently removed the logo from its website and from the rest of the advertising materials, although it had still been incorporated into a dossier that is available to students today.
