Prohens calls Negueruela "sexist" for saying that Feijóo "won't let her call" elections
The president asks the socialist if he "should take a course against sexual harassment"
PalmThe president of the Balearic Islands government, Marga Prohens, on Tuesday labeled the PSIB spokesperson, Iago Negueruela, a "sexist." The head of the regional government made these statements after the Socialist politician said that the national leader of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, "doesn't let him call elections, unlike what he allows" the presidents of Aragon and Extremadura, Jorge Azcón and María Guardiola, respectively. Not only that, but Prohens also asked Negueruela if he "should take a course against sexual harassment" and whether he would pass it or have to "re-evaluate." "He doesn't need anyone's permission; we approved a budget a few months ago," said the president, who asserted that Negueruela is "overwhelmed" by the "minute-by-minute" nature of the corruption and sexual harassment cases affecting the PSOE leadership in Madrid. During the government question time, Prohens told Negueruela that "to give lessons, one must be in a position to give them," paraphrasing a quote from former Spanish President Mariano Rajoy to former minister and PSOE number two, José Luis Ábalos, who was the rapporteur for the no-confidence motion against him and currently is.
Similarly, Prohens reminded the PSIB spokesperson that his "spiritual father," former Socialist President José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, is under investigation for allegedly acting as a "front man for the Venezuelan narco-dictatorship." The president made these remarks in response to a question from Negueruela about her administration, in which he accused the government of "criminalizing tenants" and "favoring landlords and developers," as well as "having overwhelmed emergency services."
