The Left, on the repeal of the Memory Law: "Prohens has proven herself a liar."
Más por Menorca will reject the president in the round of consultations

PalmThe left-wing bloc accused President Marga Prohens this Wednesday of breaking her word by promising to support Vox and, together, repeal the Law of Democratic Memory. The most forceful, however, was the Més MP for Menorca, Josep Castells, who asserted that the president has "proven that she is a liar" and has decided to abandon her in the round of consultations with the parties scheduled for next Monday.
"Prohens will break her word to the left-wing groups and will support the repeal of the Law of Democratic Memory," Castells denounced. The PP (People's Party) eschewed the law last December when, after breaking relations with Vox, it needed the votes of the left to approve two decree laws. Now, having mended its relationship with the far right, it has agreed to eliminate it with its partners. "They have lied to us and, therefore, have dynamited political dialogue," the Menorcan representative criticized. For that reason, he will not attend the meeting. "It's a waste of time: they want to pretend there's a debate, and they're completely empty meetings," he continued. "Did they think they would break a pact and nothing would happen?"
The leader of MÉS for Mallorca, Lluís Apesteguia, expressed similar opinions. "Prohens and the PP reached an agreement with the left: that they would not repeal the law," he said. "If they do it now, they're betraying their word," he argued. "A politician can make mistakes, but they can't lie." Similarly, the PSIB spokesperson, Iago Negueruela, considered that it has "become clear" that the PP "doesn't keep its word." "Repealing the Law of Democratic Memory is creating a problem where none exists," he insisted.
