A woman and a man were arrested in Manacor for mistreating her young daughter.
The minor reported a continuing situation of domestic violence at the police station after leaving class.
ManacorThe National Police have arrested a woman and a man in Manacor accused of abusing the woman's minor daughter in a case of ongoing domestic violence. The young girl went to the police station last Friday after leaving school to report repeated physical abuse, which she said she suffered at the hands of both her mother and her mother's partner. During her statement, she showed an officer from the Family and Women's Unit (UFAM) several bruises that, according to her testimony, corresponded to assaults she had suffered days earlier. According to the police investigation, the girl had only shared the events with her closest family and friends, who encouraged her to file a report after realizing that the episodes of violence were occurring on a weekly basis. Hours later, the two adults went to the police station to report that the young girl had not returned home after school. Given this situation and the information gathered previously, the UFAM officers arrested both as suspected perpetrators of domestic abuse. After appearing before a judge, the court issued a restraining order between the two detainees and the minor to ensure her protection.
