Next week, in this space I've occupied for the past three years, Jaume Perelló will be there to lead ARA Baleares and, with him at the helm, we'll all do better. I'm stepping down as editor, but I'm not leaving. I'll continue to be part of ARA Baleares, with the responsibility of directing the weekly. This print edition contributes something essential and complementary to the immediate news we encounter every day in the digital world: a more measured look, context, analysis, and also foresight. This weekly was born from taking some time to better understand what's happening to us and to give voice to perspectives that help us collectively think about the future of the Balearic Islands and the world.

This change in management isn't a resignation, it's a commitment. It's about sharing the work differently, but within the same team, with the goal of making ARA Baleares a more complete, more present-day publication.

Looking back makes us proud of the work we've done. Looking ahead fills us with excitement. We're a small team, and we know that with more resources we could do a better, even more useful job. In any case, ARA Baleares wouldn't be what it is without a dedicated team and demanding readers. And it's this combination that makes us confident that the best is yet to come. With effort and passion, we've managed to establish ourselves as a leading media outlet when it comes to bringing key issues to the table for the Islands. And we will continue.

Change always brings new challenges, and we embrace this one with determination. We continue working together, with the same enthusiasm and the conviction that we still have much to contribute. ARA Baleares is and will be wherever you want to find us: with rigor, a critical eye, and an infinite love for this land.
