'Haters', it's time to resist!
PalmI have to thank my colleague Laura López for defining me in a way that I fully identify with: hater The obvious. This definition doesn't make me any special being, because the world is full of hatersIt simply makes me feel part of a brotherhood. Hatred unites people very strongly, perhaps even more so than love—to learn from hatred, they recommend reading Enemies. Or how to survive hatred and take advantage of enmity. I'm writing this article during one of the most obvious times of the year, Christmas, much hated by the community of the haters of the world. Here we must cling to a fundamental word: 'resistance'. We must resist the temptation to receive congratulations from people who couldn't care less about us, and also the temptation to send back good wishes, because we couldn't care less about them either. We must resist giving our opinions, because, deep down, we know that our loved ones are tired of hearing us nag. Yes, consumerism is rubbish, people are dying of hunger while here people stuff themselves with food and drink, Jesus Christ would die of a stroke if he saw what the world has become... This only interests us, so we can spare ourselves this overwhelming need to communicate it. Besides, if we couldn't care less about what others think, why should we think that our own opinions are important? Let's be consistent and keep quiet. Maybe someday someone will get the phone numbers of a good handful of haters And we joined a welcoming WhatsApp group, where we didn't feel judged. A kind of hate paradise.
On our path of resistance, we must arrive on New Year's Eve. And yes, we must act like sparrows eating grapes, even though we know that doing this while staring at ridiculous TV presenters doesn't even make us laugh, even if our expressions help us hide it.
And we must fight to find moments of peace in the midst of this frenzy. Moments to breathe, reflect, be calm. In the midst of the hustle and bustle, silence is healing, and solitude brings us the sweetness of company—yes, it seems paradoxical, but we are hater...not a logic expert. Like good haters, we must achieve happiness in moderation, because we are not capable of enduring too much, and even if we were, we wouldn't want to.
