The Provincial Court has set a date for the trial against Gabriel Le Senne for a hate crime: it will take place on October 25, 26, 27, and 28, that is to say, exactly one year from now. As is well known, Gabriel Le Senne is an ultra politician who, against all democratic logic, occupies the presidency of the Parliament of the Balearic Islands, a kind of mockery of the institution that only occurs because the PP of President Marga Prohens wants it so (because it suits them). It is obvious that the institution that represents, in a democracy, the sovereignty of the citizens of the Balearic Islands cannot be presided over by someone who applauds the military and fascist uprising of '36, and the Civil War and the military dictatorship that followed, resulting in thousands of people murdered, repressed, and/or persecuted in the Balearic Islands alone.

However, this individual is the one who will in all likelihood continue to hold the position of President of the Parliament until the end of the legislative term, given that the regional and municipal elections will take place at the end of May next year and, in contrast, the trial is not scheduled, as we have said, until October. If we were cynical, we would believe that someone has taken care to delay the moment of judging Le Senne so that the trial cannot have any electoral impact (so that it cannot create difficulties "for the desired result", as the Supreme Court argued when it resolved to strip the right to vote from more than 160,000 citizens naturalized as Spanish descendants of exiles, with the understanding that "the desired result" is for the sum of PP and Vox to win). But we are not cynical, and we will attribute this very convenient calendar to the interests of the parties governing in the Balearic Islands and the rhythms of Justice, which as we know are slow, very slow, fast or frantic, depending on whether it is a matter of judging enemies of Spain (reds, independence supporters, anti-system activists and the like) or dyed-in-the-wool patriots who militate in ultra-nationalist far-right parties.

The insignificance of this Le Senne character makes it inadvisable to waste paper writing his name, but there is no other choice given the political and symbolic importance of the position he occupies. An importance of which he proved to be completely ignorant when he committed his crime, which consisted of tearing up an image of Aurora Picornell and the Roges del Molinar, the young communists and trade unionists who were tortured and murdered by fascists on the night of Three Kings' Day in 1937. Le Senne took the image, which was stuck to the laptop of the socialist Mercedes Garrido, and tore it to pieces in a gesture of uncontrolled rage. Of hatred, in fact. That after this, and even now that he is officially charged and a trial date has been set, Le Senne continues to soil the chair he indignantly occupies, gives an idea of how far the PP's submission to Vox goes, and not only in the Balearic Islands. Now that the PP has completed the journey from avoiding photos with Vox representatives at the Plaza de Colón demonstration in Madrid in 2019, to forming an electoral coalition for the Senate with them seven years later, it is necessary to keep in mind that, should they reach a majority, the understanding between the two parties will be resolved in the same way it already has in Andalusia, Castile and León, the Valencian Community, and, of course, here in the Balearic Islands: with the total political surrender of the PP to the demands, orders, and whims of those who do not hide their sympathy for Francoism or the Third Reich.
