Negueruela presents himself as a candidate for the mayoralty of Palma: "I feel strong enough to transform the city"

PalmaIago Negueruela announced this Tuesday that he will run in the PSIB primaries in Palma to be the candidate for mayor of the city in the next municipal elections, scheduled for May 2027. "I am presenting myself with strength, desire, and enthusiasm to transform and improve our city. It is a wonderful city, which has many problems that have accumulated and increased in the last three years," declared the current general secretary of the socialist group of Palma.

The candidate announced it through a video disseminated on social networks, in which the llonguet, the typical bread of Palma, serves as a common thread to explain the main problems suffered by the citizens of Palma and on which Negueruela wants to focus. Thus, housing, mobility, saturation, integration and the need for clean and safe neighborhoods are the ingredients for making a llonguet.

According to Negueruela, housing is one of the key issues. "People must be able to access housing, today all they see is that rents keep rising and that the few homes available for sale are not for the people who live in Palma," he explained. He also pointed out that mobility is another fundamental issue, so that it reaches all neighborhoods, and sustainability, to have more shaded squares and school centers with greener courtyards, he explained. Furthermore, he pointed out the need to bet on a different model. "We cannot live solely off tourism that increasingly saturates Palma," he said.
