Prohens will respond to Parliament on Tuesday about the housing problem in the Balearic Islands
Opposition groups will question the Balearic president about housing policies and projects in transition zones
PalmThe President of the Balearic Government, Marga Prohens, will appear before Parliament on Tuesday during the question period to answer questions about the housing situation in the Balearic Islands. Members of Parliament will raise questions about the Government's measures to alleviate the housing shortage and about the processing of urban development projects in transition zones. Lluís Apesteguia, spokesperson for MÉS per Mallorca, will ask Prohens for details on immediate actions to address the housing problem, while José María García, of Izquierda Unida, will seek clarification on the term "inquiocupa" (squatter). Manuela Cañadas, spokesperson for Vox, wants the President to explain whether urban development projects are being allowed to proceed in transition zones in municipalities governed by the PP (People's Party), as stipulated by the regulations jointly approved by the parties at the regional level. For his part, the Socialist spokesperson, Iago Negueruela, will demand explanations regarding the alleged "paralysis" of the Government in this area.
Appearances in plenary session
The PSIB-PSOE has also requested the presence of the Vice President of the Balearic Government, Antoni Costa, to explain the parliamentary agreements that will allow the Executive's initiatives to be approved, especially regarding the 2026 spending ceiling, which still lacks the necessary votes. Meanwhile, MÁS per Mallorca has asked the relevant member of the Government to report on the agreed plan to implement the pending transfer of powers according to the Statute of Autonomy.
