The former mayor of Manacor, Pedro Rosselló, new island director of Tourism of the Council
The lawyer and former elected councilor of the PP will assume the area of Supply and Quality on September 1, replacing Clara del Moral, who is retiring
PalmaPedro Rosselló will be the new Insular Director of Tourism for Offer and Quality of the Consell de Mallorca. The former mayor of Manacor will take office on September 1, succeeding Clara del Moral, who is leaving the institution due to her retirement.
Born in Palma in 1967 and a law graduate from the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB), Rosselló has practiced law for over 25 years and has a professional office in Manacor. His political career has been mainly linked to this municipality and the People's Party.
Rosselló was deputy mayor and delegate for Environment and Interior of the Manacor City Council during the 2007-2011 legislature. Subsequently, between 2011 and 2015, he held the position of general secretary of the Balearic Institute of Nature (Ibanat), an organism then dependent on the Ministry of Agriculture, Environment and Territory.
In 2015, he took office as mayor of Manacor, a position he held until 2017. Between 2018 and 2019, he was part of the municipal government again as first deputy mayor and delegate for Environment. In the last legislature, between 2019 and 2023, he was an elected councilor for the PP group on the Consell de Mallorca.
The insular councilor for Tourism, Guillem Ginard, has stated that his incorporation will allow for continuity in the work of the Insular Directorate and progress in tourism policies and the fight against illegal offers. Ginard also thanked Clara del Moral for her work and dedication during her time in office.
