The Government is committed to reviewing the route of the train from Sa Pobla to Alcudia and making it less impactful.
The "No to This Train" platform urges citizens to submit objections to the project study before the deadline of August 18.

PalmNeighbors affected by the layout of the Sa Pobla railway in Alcudia They met this Thursday with representatives of the Catalan government to express their concerns about the project study and present alternatives. Pere Perelló, spokesperson for the "No to This Train" platform, explains that the government assured them that "they will listen to everyone," thus emphasizing the importance of the comments made regarding the study. "Once they have gathered the information, they will surely have no problem modifying or improving the proposal," affirms Perelló, who describes the meeting as positive because "we talked and listened."
This Saturday, the platform will be in Sa Pobla square to help those interested in preparing and organizing their complaints. Regarding the reaction of political parties, Perelló appreciates the municipal government's position against the controversial railway route, but Perelló acknowledges that what he feels on the street is that these weeks "of intense struggle exist as a crisis of confidence in those who represent us." "In Sa Pobla, we expected a different reaction, that we would feel more supported by them," he notes, adding that this crisis of confidence worries him and that they will have to earn it again. "It's as if they were scalded," he emphasizes.
At this time, Perelló emphasizes the importance of submitting objections during this period—the deadline is August 18, although the platform has requested that it be extended until September 30. This means the government won't make any changes until they've read all the defenses. "Now what we must do is help people, with as many objections as possible," he states.
The platform will also collect signatures and has not ruled out holding a rally in the Plaza de sa Pobla at the end of September.
The PSIB is "radically against both route alternatives."
For its part, the Sa Pobla Socialist Workers' Party (PSIB) expressed its rejection of both routes of the train line extension to Alcúdia in a statement, as it could cross a total of 90 farms. The party emphasized that it had "always" defended public transport and the train as "the first alternative for collective and environmentally friendly transport."
"The announcement of the extension of the existing route to reach Alcúdia is good news, which the PSIB welcomes. However, neither the project presented nor the government's approach to the process are acceptable for an announcement of the magnitude they have learned from our perspective."
For this reason, they have positioned themselves "radically against" the two alternative routes proposed for the railway exit from the current station in the direction of Alcudia, because they are two solutions that are "very disrespectful" to the fertile lands of the Marjal.
They have explained that alternative A1 involves the affectation of at least 60 properties, while A2 "recklessly" crosses around 90 properties, but in both cases "it cuts through properties, crosses irrigation canals and, ultimately, shows no respect for one of the.
Thus, the socialists have stated that they cannot opt for "either of the two proposals", because they consider that "neither of the two is admissible" due to their "evident impact within a territory of high agricultural, economic, heritage and sentimental value for the society of the town".
The PSIB has demanded that the Executive attend the meeting planned with the residents of the municipality on July 15 and take note of the sensitivity and will of the residents regarding the route of the railway in the direction of Alcudia, so that the effects on the territory that it causes can be minimized. the constructive solution presented.
