A 52-year-old tourist drowns in a hotel pool in Illot.
The staff of the tourist establishment found him floating face down early this morning.
PalmA 52-year-old British man has drowned in the pool of a hotel in El Islote where he was staying during his vacation. According to 061, early this morning, workers at the tourist establishment found the man floating face down in the pool and notified the Emergency Services.
While waiting for 061 technicians to arrive, the hotel workers pulled the man from the water and attempted to revive him, without success. When the medical personnel arrived at the tourist establishment, they performed CPR, but they were unable to restore vital signs and were unable to do anything other than certify his death.
The National Police have launched an investigation to clarify the events and are awaiting the results of the autopsy to determine the cause of death.
