Aemet has forecast mild weather for the weekend with few changes
PalmThe State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) forecasts mostly clear skies and rising temperatures in the Balearic Islands, with highs between 18 and 22 degrees Celsius, for this long weekend, from Friday to Monday. According to Jorge Rodríguez, Aemet's spokesperson in the Balearic Islands, speaking to Europa Press, Friday will begin with cloudy skies and some occasional showers, especially in Menorca and northern Mallorca, with skies clearing during the afternoon. Nighttime temperatures will rise, while daytime temperatures will remain stable. Winds will be moderate from the northwest, with occasional strong gusts. For this reason, Aemet has issued a yellow alert for coastal phenomena in Ibiza, Formentera, and the north and northeast of Mallorca, with gusts expected between 60 and 70 kilometers per hour (km/h). Additionally, there will be a yellow alert for wind in the Serra de Tramuntana mountain range, where gusts could reach 80 km/h.
On Saturday, the wind will decrease and mostly clear skies will prevail across all the islands. Nighttime temperatures will remain largely unchanged, although daytime temperatures will see a locally significant rise, Rodríguez noted. Highs that day could reach between 18 and 22 degrees Celsius. The stable weather will continue on Sunday and Monday, with mostly clear skies and temperatures showing little change compared to Saturday. The wind will be light to moderate from the west.
