PalmA new episode of incivility is rocking the Balearic Sea. Olympic windsurfer Nacho Baltasar has denounced, in a video posted on social media, the presence of boats and ships just meters from the coast, sailing at high speed and recklessly. In the video, the Mallorcan is diving in the Portopetro area, just a short distance from the surface, when a boat speeds over him. Several jet skis pass by up to three times.

At one point, Baltasar begins to ascend toward his buoy after spending a few seconds still on the seabed, undecided about whether it is safe to ascend or not, given the short distance separating him from the jet skis.

When he surfaces, he turns toward the drivers: "Hey! What's going on? Weren't we looking?" he says. "You all ran me over. All of you!" he insists. The video, captioned "The polish of swimming in Mallorca," has already accumulated dozens of comments in which users have expressed their outrage at the situation. "It happened to me this year, but as I was almost surfacing, I got scared. I spent a few seconds wondering whether to get in or not, oh my God," writes one, while another points out that these vehicles "should be banned." "One more attack on the coast. We're getting used to these coasts becoming increasingly impassable out of helplessness. Mallorca in the summer proves it true," adds the user.

Situations like this are common on the Balearic coasts and seriously endanger bathers, as many boats, as is the case with jet skis, do not respect safety regulations or standards.
