PalmaAt least 12 people have been arrested this Tuesday as part of a major operation against drug trafficking in La Soledat and Marratxí. Among those arrested are ‘El Pablo’, his wife, and other relatives, according to sources close to the investigation.

The operation, named Tsunami-Galba, is directed against an organization allegedly dedicated to drug trafficking in Mallorca and is mainly focused on the Palma neighborhood of La Soledat. A device has also been deployed in Marratxí.

In total, 14 searches have been carried out on properties linked to the investigation. The operation mobilizes more than 200 officers from the National Police and the Customs Surveillance Service of the Tax Agency.

On behalf of the National Police, officers from the Balearic Judicial Police Brigade are participating, along with about 50 agents from the Police Intervention Unit (UIP) deployed from Valencia. Specialists from the Operational Group of Technical Interventions (GOIT), air assets, and the Canine Guide unit are also intervening.

Customs Surveillance is contributing units from the Immediate Response and Intervention Groups (GRI) of Madrid and Barcelona, agents from the Regional Air-Naval Unit, in charge of the security perimeter, and other personnel from the Regional Headquarters of the Balearics. Specialized personnel in technical means are also participating.

The Palma Local Police and the Urban Planning Area of Cort are collaborating in the operation. Local agents are in charge of traffic control, while municipal technicians are participating in the inspection of the investigated properties.

The operation continues to be underway this Tuesday and new actions within the framework of the investigation are not ruled out.
