Cort awards the management of Playa de Palma, Cala Mayor and Can Pere Antoni and excludes the businessman with debts

PalmThe Cort Governing Board approved this Wednesday the award of temporary concessions to operate the beaches of Cala Mayor, Playa de Palma, and Can Pere Antoni for the period 2026-2029. In parallel, the council has excluded the bidder who was applying for Ciudad Jardín for not having submitted the required technical and financial documentation.

This concession has been declared void and the City Council will extend the current management of this beach for one year. The excluded company, which already had debts with other city councils, has been fined 1,420 euros.

Regarding the awards, Cala Major has been granted to Beach y Oci for an annual fee of 370,000 euros. Playa de Palma and Can Pere Antoni have been awarded to Marportsunbeach Mallorca, with fees of 3.55 million euros and 150,000 euros per year, respectively.

On the other hand, the tender for Cala Estancia has also been declared void after the candidate companies did not meet the technical or solvency requirements. Cort is now studying alternatives to guarantee the service on this stretch of coastline.

The contracts will have an initial duration of four years, extendable, except for Can Pere Antoni, which will be for three years, extendable to three more.

The council defends that the process has been carried out with environmental and quality criteria, and this year it plans to reduce the number of sunbeds on Palma's beaches by more than 1,000 to limit the pressure on the sands and improve their conservation.
