PalmMallorca witnessed the discovery of two decomposing bodies this Monday, although one was in a more advanced state than the other. The first was found by a group of hikers inside a small house near Son Bauló beach, in Can Picafort. Judicial Police officers from the Civil Guard, who assumed the search for the case, went to the scene to carry out the initial investigations.

According to a statement from the armed force, the body was in an advanced state of decomposition and showed no signs of violence, although for now, officers have not ruled out any hypothesis.

The body was removed by a judicial delegation and taken to the Institute of Forensic Medicine, where an autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death. At this time, they have not been able to identify the body and, due to the advanced state of decomposition, it is unknown whether it is a man or a woman.

On the other hand, a lifeguard spotted a body in the water this Monday morning and notified the Emergency Services. Scientific Police officers were dispatched to the scene to inspect the human remains and, after taking the first samples, the body was removed for later transfer to the Forensic Anatomical Institute, where they will try to determine its origin and the cause of death.

Thus, they indicated that at the moment it is unknown if it could be the body of a migrant who died during the crossing, although they could estimate that it has been at sea for quite some time due to the advanced state of decomposition of the body.
