Felanitx also protests against police abuses at the demonstration 'Mallorca, at its limit' in Palma

PalmaFelanitx hosted this past Tuesday afternoon a protest against police action during Sunday's demonstration in Palma under the slogan 'Mallorca, at the limit'. The call, promoted in less than 24 hours by various citizen entities and the Bloc per Felanitx, has gathered more than 200 people in front of the City Hall.

The attendees initially gathered in front of the council building, although, due to the influx of participants, the event was moved to the space located between the City Hall and the Market, where several protest banners were displayed.

Among the messages that could be read, slogans such as "Protesting in our home is not a crime! Enough police violence", "For the right to a dignified life" or "Those who sow misery reap anger. Santa Maria leads the way".The protest took place in a peaceful and demanding manner, with the participation of people of all ages. One of the most notable moments was the arrival of the character Madò Farta, who was received with applause by those present. As she walked through the gathering, she displayed various protest messages, including Fed up with politicians who do nothing and This is just the beginning, don't let up"."}For their part, the poet Maria Monserrat was in charge of reading the manifesto, in which, once again, the immediate resignation of the delegate of the Spanish government in the Balearic Islands, Alfonso Rodríguez, was demanded, for what the organizers consider a "totally disproportionate" police deployment during Sunday's demonstration. The text also criticized Palma City Council for the "numerous impediments and obstacles" that, according to the organizers, were put in place for the celebration of the mobilization.

For their part, Cristina Vaquer, from the movement Less Tourism, More Life, explained that photographs and videos of the events that occurred on Sunday are being collected and that, for the moment, they have already identified a dozen injured people. As she pointed out, the aim is to file a collective complaint for the police actions.

The Felanitx concentration adds to the demonstrations of rejection that have occurred in recent days following the actions of the anti-riot police after the mobilization for the housing crisis and tourist overcrowding. Several social entities and organizations have called for an investigation into the events and have denounced a disproportionate use of force by the agents.
