PalmaThe Majorcan linguist Antoni Llull Martí has published the book '1,001 new riddles', with which he exceeds 3,000 riddles created throughout his career. This figure, according to professor and writer David Pagès, "makes him deserving of a Guinness record".

The work, which turns the Catalan language into a game of wit, will be presented on November 14th at the Municipal Library of Manacor, the author's hometown, the publisher informed. The event will feature the participation of the mayor of Manacor, Ferran Montero; the specialist in popular culture Felip Munar, author of the prologue; the president of the Moll publishing house, Antoni Mir, and the writer.

'1,001 new riddles' proposes that the reader discover the words hidden behind 1,001 riddles in verse, with references to everyday elements, characters, animals, and monuments. Among the enigmas are descriptions of the Alcover-Moll dictionary, the 'arròs brut', the bishop of Mallorca, Sebastià Taltavull, and the Eiffel Tower, among others. The solutions appear at the bottom of the page to facilitate the solving of the riddles.

The publication also includes tribute texts to the author signed by various writers and specialists, including Gabriel Janer Manila, Bernat Joan i Marí, Bernat Nadal, and Xesc Riudavets. Born in Manacor in 1935, Llull obtained his accreditation as a Catalan teacher in 1971 and published his first work, 'Vocabularis temàtics', in 1979.

The book has the support of the Council of Mallorca and the Balearic Studies Institute, in addition to the collaboration of the city councils of Manacor and Girona.
