Fourth week of doctors' strike to claim a framework statute
The strikes, according to the Balearic Doctors' Union, continue due to the "null response" from the Ministry
PalmDoctors and medical professionals are called this Monday to a new week of strike, from May 18 to 22, the fourth since the beginning of the year, to reject the framework statute proposed by the Ministry of Health and demand their own text.
The strikes, according to the Balearic Medical Union (Simebal-CESM), are maintained due to the "null response" from the Ministry, nor from the central Government to negotiate with the strike committee.
"We see ourselves obliged to continue with the claims put forward by the committee, focused on the demand for a specific statute that recognizes the uniqueness of the medical profession and its training, and that defends and protects their working conditions", they indicated in a statement.
The union has called for a rally this Thursday (11 a.m.) at Can Misses Hospital in Ibiza, as well as a protest in Palma (6:30 p.m.) in the Plaza de la Reina.
Likewise, during all strike days, rallies will be held at 8:30 a.m. in the different hospitals of the Balearic Islands, in support of the doctors and physicians who are covering the minimum services.
