Francesc Moll i Marquès, editor and founder of GOB, dies
He was president of the Publishers Guild of the Balearic Islands and a member of the board of the Booksellers Guild of Mallorca, among other positions.

PalmFrancesc Moll i Marquès died this Saturday at the age of 88. The economist and editor perpetuated the work of his father, Francisco de Borja Moll y Casasnovas.
Moll i Marquès was born in Palma on October 28, 1937. In 1962, he graduated in Economics from the University of Barcelona. From 1963 to 1967, he was manager of the Mallorca Diary, and in 1967 he became manager of Editorial Moll and collaborated with his father in the publication of Catalan-Valencià-Balear Dictionary.
From 1993 to 2000, he was president of the Publishers' Guild of the Balearic Islands and a member of the board of the Booksellers' Guild of Mallorca. He was one of the founding members of the Balearic Group for Ornithology and the Defense of Nature (GOB). He chaired the environmental organization from 1978 to 1981. He was also an active member of the OCB, the Lull·liana Archaeological Society, and ARCA. He published articles in Breaking News and also in Balearic Journal.
In 1978 he was Director General of the Environment of the Department of Territorial Planning of the General Inter-Island Council.
