Man arrested for setting fire to two jet skis because they did not return his deposit

PalmaThe National Police have arrested a man for starting a fire at the facilities of a jet ski rental company in Palma, of which he had been a client. The events took place in the early morning of August 13 in the parking area of a warehouse located in the Molinar neighborhood. The fire reached the interior of the warehouse and burned two jet skis and a trailer that belonged to the company, as well as a private individual's car. The flames also caused damage to the metal roof, facade, windows, and walls.

The owner of the company, dedicated to jet ski rental, filed a complaint with the National Police for the damages. According to his account, he had recently had an incident with some clients who had returned the jet skis with damages and, therefore, he did not return their deposit.

The agents of the Robbery Unit verified that the fire had been started and identified one of the clients who had rented the jet skis at the scene. The suspect was arrested as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of damages caused by fire.
