Joana Fornés, promoter of Lloseta's cardinals, dies
He was a much-loved figure in the municipality and was closely linked to one of Majorca's best-known baking families.
PalmaThe well-known Lloseta businesswoman Joana Fornés Salamanca, widow of Biel Pou Maírat and manager of the popular Forn de Baix in Lloseta, died this Tuesday, June 2, at the age of 94.
Fornés was a much-loved figure in the municipality and was closely linked to a large baker family from Mallorca, responsible for preparing for decades the traditional "cardenals" that have made the family business famous.
According to the obituary provided by the family, the funeral will take place this Wednesday, June 3, at 7:30 PM at the parish of Nativity of the Virgin Mary in Lloseta. The funeral services will be held the same day at 5:30 PM and the burial will be at the municipal cemetery of Lloseta.
