Mallorca Beach Tour cancels its Amarador gathering due to bureaucratic obstacles from the Coastal Authority.
The organization has regretted the administrative obstacles and has questioned the change of opinion on the part of the Administration.

PalmThe Mallorca Platja Tour organization has formally canceled the gathering planned for this weekend on the Amarador beach in Mondragó, as part of its efforts to raise awareness about overcrowding on the island's beaches.
The organizers' decision, published on social media, was made after the Directorate General for Coastal Affairs, despite having communicated the event within the established timeframe and with all the necessary safeguards, considered that the gathering represents an "intensive" use of the coastline and demanded additional authorization, as well as an environmental report, due to the fact that the Nature 2000 area is protected.
In this regard, the organization explained that Costas' response came with just 48 hours' notice and was subject to a series of requirements that made the meeting "practically unfeasible" for a "small, assembly-based" organization, given that there could be identified volunteers or legal liabilities beyond its capacity.
However, they "deeply" regretted that while commercial tourism activities with a clear environmental impact are permitted, a peaceful, symbolic, and non-profit citizen action is being blocked by "disproportionate" bureaucracy. They also stated that they carried out three such actions last summer; an impediment. "We don't understand the change in criteria or the treatment received," they also stated that none of this will stop them.
