A man breaks his hip while climbing Puig Major and is left hanging 100 meters high.
His two companions also had to be rescued by the Civil Guard.

PalmA man has been injured on the Aguja del Frare, on Puig Major, while climbing one of the walls. According to the Civil Guard, the climber fell approximately 10 meters, causing a hip fracture, and was left dangling approximately 100 meters above the ground.
His two other companions, who also had to be rescued by the Civil Guard and the Mallorca Fire Department, were at different points on the same wall from which they had no way of continuing the climb or descending on their own.
The climbers called the Emergency Services after finding themselves trapped on the Aguja del Frare and after one of them suffered an accident while exploring a route. The Mountain Rescue and Intervention Group (GREIM) and the Air Service were immediately activated, dispatching to the scene by helicopter.
After reconnaissance of the site, the officers confirmed that the three climbers were stuck vertically on the wall, forcing them to carry out three separate and highly difficult rescues.
To rescue the first climber, the injured one, they had to use a rope-cutting maneuver using the helicopter's helicrane, with the direct intervention of the rescuer and securing the injured person before releasing him from the anchor.
The second climber was at mid-height, anchored to a compromised point on the route. His evacuation also required the use of the helicrane, employing a technical device called 'Lezard', designed for this type of high-risk vertical maneuvers.
The third was already at the top of l'Agulla, on a small platform, which allowed for partial support from the helicopter, a direct evacuation from solid ground.
Meanwhile, the injured man, who was suffering from severe hip pain, possibly due to a fracture caused by hitting a wall hard, was taken by helicopter to Son Espases University Hospital. The other two were evacuated unharmed to the Cúpula reservoir.
