A man drowns on a beach in Can Picafort.

PalmA man has died and a woman has been seriously injured in a drowning incident on Son Bauló beach, in the Mallorcan municipality of Santa Margalida. According to a statement from the Emergency Medical Services Unit (SAMU) 061, the emergency services received the call minutes before 6 p.m., reporting that two people were unable to get out of the water.

When medical personnel arrived and were able to rescue them, there was nothing they could do to save the man's life. The woman, once stabilized, was taken in serious condition to Muro Hospital.

The man was 67 years old and the woman was 47. The cause of the drowning is unknown.
