A man lived with his mother's corpse for more than 15 days in Marratxí.

At this time, the reasons why the man did not report his mother's death or why he lived with the body are unknown. Officers transferred him to the Psychiatric Unit of Son Llàtzer Hospital to assess his psychological state and clarify the facts.

The case was discovered this Monday, when officers entered the home and found the body in an advanced state of decomposition. However, the investigation began weeks ago, after several neighbors alerted the Marratxí City Council that they had not seen the woman or been able to contact her for days. Given the situation, a protocol was activated with the council's Social Services, but the social worker was also unable to communicate with either the victim or her son.

Given these indications, the City Council informed the Local Police, who, after several failed attempts to contact the residents, requested a court order to enter the property. Once authorized, the Civil Guard forced their way into the house, where they found the woman's lifeless body, in an advanced state of decomposition.
