Provisional prison for sexually assaulting the minor granddaughter of his ex-partner in Palma
The man would have threatened the minor so that she would not explain the facts and he has entered provisional prison by court order
PalmaThe National Police have arrested a man in Palma accused of allegedly repeatedly sexually assaulting the underage granddaughter of his ex-partner, who has been remanded in provisional custody by court order. The investigation has been taken over by agents of the Unit for Attention to Family and Women (UFAM).
The events became known last Sunday, when the 091 received a call alerting that a sexual assault on a minor was occurring in a home in Palma. Several National Police patrols went to the residence and spoke with various relatives of the victim.
According to the Superior Police Headquarters of the Balearic Islands, at that time several relatives resided in the home, including the minor and her grandmother's former romantic partner.
The grandmother explained to the agents that she had heard noise coming from her ex-partner's room and that, upon entering, she had found him naked and in the company of her granddaughter. Faced with this situation, the man allegedly justified that they were both changing clothes.
It was following this episode that the family discovered that, allegedly, the man had been repeatedly sexually assaulting the minor. According to information provided by the Police, the suspect had threatened to kill her parents if she revealed what was happening. For fear that he would carry out the threats, the minor had not revealed the events until then.
When the agents identified him, the suspect allegedly admitted that he had been sexually assaulting the minor for some time. According to the same sources, initially it would have been touching and later sexual assaults with penetration.
UFAM agents, who took charge of the proceedings, searched the man's room and took statements from relatives and affected persons to clarify the circumstances of the events.
The man was arrested as the alleged perpetrator of a sexual assault offense and, after being brought before the court, the corresponding court ordered his provisional detention, as confirmed to Europa Press by sources close to the investigation.
