PalmThe Balearic Islands Health Department has withdrawn and destroyed 128 Halloween-related products because they posed serious risks to consumer safety, according to the Directorate General of Benefits, Pharmacy, and Consumer Affairs. Among the items removed by the Consumer Inspection and Market Surveillance Service were 99 decorations, 27 costumes and accessories, and 2 voice changers, all found in retail establishments across the islands. Subsequently, distributors, importers, and manufacturers were traced to ensure the complete removal of these products from the market. This action is part of the annual inspection campaign carried out in Mallorca, Menorca, and Ibiza, which aims to detect products that do not comply with general safety regulations. Particular attention is focused on products intended for children, the main focus of Halloween celebrations. According to the Balearic Government, inspectors have found that the quality of products sold this year is higher than in previous years. The awareness and monitoring campaigns promoted by the Catalan Health Department (Salut) "are yielding results" and contributing to greater consumer safety. Salut recommends reusing recycled materials, shopping at secondhand stores, or swapping costumes to reduce the consumption of plastics like polyester. It also advises keeping receipts and prioritizing local businesses. For its part, the Directorate General for Benefits, Pharmacy, and Consumer Affairs reiterates the importance of buying safe products and offers some basic recommendations. Costumes and accessories
