PalmThe average pension in the Balearic Islands reached €1,230.61 in December, representing an increase of just over 4.5% compared to the same month in 2024. However, it remains €87.10 below the national average. At the beginning of the last month of the year, there were almost 215,000 people in the Balearic Islands receiving some type of pension, 2% more than in 2024, according to figures released this Friday by the Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration.

Broken down by pension type, in the Balearic Islands there are almost 19,000 people receiving a permanent disability pension (with a benefit of €1,158.89 per month). Retirement pensions are the most numerous, with just over 144,000 people (€1,396.19), followed by 46,000 people (€857.31/month). Orphan's pensions are distributed among more than 6,000 people (€447.90/month), and pensions for other family members are distributed among 115 people (€764.47/month).

In the Balearic Islands, there are around 33,000 pensions with a minimum supplement (this is 15.2% of the total). These are received by 19.7% of female pensioners and 9.8% of male pensioners. Furthermore, there are more than 25,000 pensioners receive a supplement to address the gender pay gap, with an average amount of 74 euros. The majority (over 12,400) are pensioners with two dependent children, followed by those with one child (almost 6,300), three children (over 4,400), and four children (over 1,900).
