According to what was explained during the session, the injuries are consistent with repeated assault with a foot. One of the specialists also indicated that no injuries were observed during the inspection that would suggest an attempt at defense by the victim.

The Prosecutor's Office is asking for 20 years in prison and compensation of 150,000 euros for the family, while the private prosecution is requesting a reviewable life sentence. The defense, for its part, is requesting acquittal.

On the first day of the trial, held on Monday, the victim's daughter – the accused's ex-partner – police officers, and several witnesses already testified. The woman explained that she had withdrawn two previous complaints for mistreatment due to fear of the accused and described a living environment marked by arguments, insults, and threats, to the point of sleeping with furniture blocking the door.

She also recounted that on the day of the events, she received a call from her mother while she was working in a bar and heard "screaming" shouts, which caused her to go to the farm in a state of shock.

According to the Prosecutor's Office's account, the man allegedly attacked his ex-partner's mother on the porch of the property and allegedly kicked her repeatedly in the head for at least 15 minutes, causing fatal injuries.

On the same day, a bar customer who heard "horrible" screams also testified, as well as a neighbor who recorded the accused on the property shortly after the crime and who claimed to have heard calls for help moments before.

Two other medical professionals who were responsible for the expert report on the accused have ruled out that the man suffers from a mental illness or disorder. When questioned by the Prosecutor's Office, they agreed that the defendant knows how to differentiate between right and wrong, as well as act accordingly.

Furthermore, regarding the vulnerability report they prepared on the victim, they explained that she was a "very vulnerable" person due to the pathologies she suffered from and the intake of various medications for pain. "She could not defend herself against a 47-year-old person without any pathology," said one of the specialists.
