The man kidnapped in s'Aranjassa was assaulted for threatening the tenant of a property

PalmaThe man who was found tied up and beaten on Tuesday on the road to s'Aranjassa, in Palma, was not the main target of his attackers. According to the progress of the investigation reported this Friday by the National Police, the three men who allegedly attacked him were looking for the tenant of the property that the victim had gone to visit.

The investigators maintain that the assault served to send a message to the real target. The victim explained to the Police that, after entering the house, the assailants tied him up and beat him, put him into a van and, after traveling several kilometers, threw him from the moving vehicle. They also allegedly threatened to do the same to his friend.

For these events, the National Police have arrested three men as alleged perpetrators of the crimes of illegal detention, assault, and threats.

They were looking for the tenant of the property

According to the investigation by the Robbery group, the owner of the property could have hired two people so that, with a worker from the property, they would attempt to clarify some financial differences or get the tenant to leave the home.

The victim had traveled to Mallorca precisely to visit this man. At the time of the assault, however, he was alone in the house because his friend had stepped out momentarily.

This circumstance would have caused the three suspects to encounter a person who, according to the investigators, was not their initial target. The police hypothesis is that the assailants entered the property thinking they would find the usual tenant there.

Faced with this situation, they would have opted to attack the visitor and use the aggression as a warning.

A van as a clue

The investigation allowed for the identification of one of the alleged perpetrators, who was a worker on the same estate. The agents located at his home the van that was allegedly used to transport the victim and subsequently throw him from the moving vehicle.

Based on this finding, the Police arrested this man and identified the other two individuals allegedly involved in the assault.

The three are provisionally accused of illegal detention, bodily harm, and threats, while the investigation continues to clarify the circumstances of the assault and the financial disputes that could be related to it.
