The mayor of Palma, Jaime Martínez, recalled this Thursday at a press conference at the cinema facilities that the center will house a Local Police station, a nursery, a library, a basic health unit, and parking spaces.
Martínez said that the commitment to the neighborhood is “irreversible” and emphasized that the project “has not been done behind the neighborhood's back’. According to the mayor, this infrastructure aims to “become the heart of the neighborhood”, “a meeting place for residents”.
During the presentation, the winners of the ideas competition, Joan Fortuny and Martí Sanz, explained the details of the initiative, which they described as a “small skyscraper” that has almost no external energy consumption and is practically self-sustaining”.
Numerous residents, representatives of various associations, and councilor Antoni Costa, among other authorities, attended the event.
