The tumultuous fight of Son Gotleu occurred due to the sale of hashish

PalmThe fight that took place last Wednesday between several people, which ended with two people arrested and several injured, originated from the sale of hashish. According to the National Police, the fight occurred around 10:30 p.m. on Indalecio Prieto street in Son Gotleu and involved dozens of people carrying large bladed weapons, metal bars, clubs, knives, and others.

Several National Police patrols rushed to the scene and upon arrival observed a large number of people on the sidewalk, some of them injured who were taken to hospital or treated there by SAMU. The officers interviewed several people, including a woman with a head wound who explained that she had been hit with a golf club as a result of a fight between a group of people.

This woman reported that her alleged attackers were inside a bar located a few meters away and that they had hidden the objects they had used to assault her. On the other hand, a witness stated that the fight had started as a result of an argument over the sale of hashish in the public street and that more people with weapons and blunt objects joined in.

Another of the affected parties, a man with an arm wound, explained that several people had beaten him with clubs during the fight. Inside the premises there were two men, one of them with a head wound who, when questioned by officers, reported that while he was inside the premises he saw a man and a woman arguing on the sidewalk and that a few moments later a fight broke out, to which a large number of people with clubs and metal bars joined, and that when he tried to help, he was injured.

The other man who was inside the bar told the officers that he had nothing to do with the fight, although he showed a high state of agitation and nervousness when questioned by the police. Finally, the officers located a wooden stick and a golf club inside the premises, which were the objects pointed out by one of the witnesses as having been used to assault her, in addition to several clubs and large objects scattered throughout the interior of the premises.

Nevertheless, two men were arrested as alleged perpetrators of a crime of injury and riotous brawl, and were initially transferred to a hospital center to be treated for the injuries they presented and, afterwards, to police facilities. The investigation remains open to clarify the facts and the National Police do not rule out new arrests.
