Two VTC drivers caught drugged in Ibiza

PalmThe Ibiza City Council and the Vila Local Police carried out a joint transport control operation in the city this Wednesday, resulting in several fines and vehicle impoundments.

During the operation, three proposed fines were filed for illegal taxis, seven for irregular customer solicitation, and three for providing unauthorized complementary services, the island's Transport Department details in a statement.

In addition, five vehicles were impounded, and two fines were imposed on VTC drivers who were traveling with passengers under the influence of drugs, after testing positive in the tests carried out by the officers, the island institution details in the same statement.

The Council and the Local Police have explained that they will maintain these controls periodically to guarantee the safety of users, protect authorized transport, and ensure compliance with current regulations.
