What is the richest town in the Balearic Islands?
Esporles overtakes Valldemossa and becomes the municipality with the highest incomes in the Archipelago.

PalmThe municipalities of the Tramuntana mountain range have the highest incomes in the Balearic Islands. According to the latest data from the Tax Agency, Esporles is the municipality with more than 1,000 inhabitants with the highest average gross income in the archipelago: 47,908 euros per year per tax return. It is closely followed by Valldemossa, with 46,046 euros, a municipality that had led this ranking in recent years and which this year occupies the second position.
Bunyola (€42,580) and Puigpunyent (€41,013) also stand out, completing the group of municipalities with an average income above €40,000. The majority of mountain villages in the top positions reflect a clear territorial pattern: the highest incomes are concentrated in residential areas near Palma, with a high presence of second homes and a high-net-worth population.
The picture varies depending on the island. Mallorca is where the highest incomes in the archipelago are concentrated: Esporles (€47,908) and Valldemossa (€46,046) top the overall ranking, followed by Bunyola (€42,580), Puigpunyent (€41,013), and Santa Maria del Camí. The area surrounding the Palma metropolitan area is also notable. Also at the top of the ranking are Marratxí (€37,660) and Alaró (€37,789), with incomes clearly above the Balearic average.
In Ibiza, the highest incomes are in Santa Eulàlia des Riu (€37,586) and Sant Josep de sa Talaia (€37,132), areas with a strong presence of residential and luxury tourism, followed by Ibiza Town (€36,346). In Formentera, the average income stands at €36,711, an intermediate level but far from the figures in the Tramuntana mountains. In Menorca, on the other hand, the municipality with the highest income among those analyzed is Sant Lluís (€35,176).
These data show that, despite the islands' tourist image and high purchasing power, internal differences are notable. The municipalities with the highest ranking coincide with areas with a strong residential component of foreigners or high-income families, while in other territories, especially Menorca and some parts of Ibiza and Formentera, the declared income is clearly lower.
In general terms, the average income in the Balearic Islands remains below that of other regions in the country, but with very specific points—especially in the Tramuntana mountains and luxury tourist areas—that raise the average and highlight the territorial gap within the islands.
