The arrival of international tourists to the Balearic Islands rises in March by 14%
Between January and March, the Archipelago received the visit of 836,544 international tourists, 3.4% more than in the first three months of 2025
PalmThe Balearic Islands registered the arrival of 482,831 international tourists in March, 14.07% more than in the third month of last year, according to the Border Tourist Movements statistic published this Tuesday by the National Statistics Institute (INE). According to the same data, between January and March, the Archipelago received the visit of 836,544 international tourists, 3.37% more than in the first three months of 2025.
Taking into account the state tourist data also published by the Balearic Institute of Statistics (Ibestat), the Balearic Islands received a total of 706,249 international state tourists in March, 9.62% more.
Specifically, according to Ibestat data, the Archipelago received a visit from 223,418 state tourists in March, 1.11%.
Tourist expenditure
Regarding spending, in March international tourists left 605.3 million euros in the Islands, 5.10% less than in March 2025. In the cumulative period from January to March, spending rose to 1,086.7 million euros, 4.37% more.
Each person spent an average of 1,254 euros on trips, 7.86% less, while daily spending stood at 197 euros, 1.69% more.
On the other hand, the INE statistics indicate that the average duration of trips in March was 6.36 days, 9.39% less.
State data
Spain received 6.8 million international tourists in March, 3.3% more than in the same month of 2025. In the first three months of 2026, the number of tourists who visited Spain increased by 2.5% and exceeded 17.5 million.
The United Kingdom was the main country of origin, with almost 1.3 million tourists and an increase of 2.1% compared to March 2025. From Germany, 924,088 arrived (2.9% more) and from France, 798,671 (4.4% more).
