The Government trusts that tourism will not grow in high season
Antoni Costa says that the Executive "wants to avoid, with all its might, the phenomena of massification and congestion that occur in high season"
The spokesperson for the Government, Antoni Costa, expressed this Friday his wish that next season there be "zero growth" in the number of tourists, especially in overnight stays, although the total number of visitors for the year may continue to grow.
In the press conference following the Government Council meeting this Friday, Costa expressed his satisfaction that forecasts indicate that, by mid-March, 70% of the hotel facilities will already be open, which confirms the objective of de-seasonality that has been pursued for more than 30 years.
"This Government wants to avoid, with all its might, the phenomena of massification and congestion that occur in high season; we believe we are heading in the right direction," he indicated.
