PalmThe Balearic Cultural Work of Inca celebrates on Saturday, May 23rd, at 7 PM, in the Cloister of Santo Domingo of Inca, the XXVII edition of the May Awards, an event that annually recognizes the work of individuals, entities, and groups committed to the language and culture of the Balearic Islands. With these awards, the OCB of Inca wishes to highlight the work of people and initiatives that, from different fields, contribute to cultural dynamism, the defense of heritage, linguistic normalization, and the preservation of the identity of Inca.

The awardees of this 2026 edition are:

Berenguer de Anoia Award

Intended to award individuals or entities that have contributed to the sociocultural dynamization of Inca. This year it is awarded to the Colla Gegantera “Gegants d’Inca”.

Miquel Duran i Saurina Prize

Intended for individuals or entities who have distinguished themselves by their contribution to linguistic normalization within the world of communication. It is awarded to the editorial team of Inca Revista

Fra Miquel Colom Award, T.O.R.

Aimed at individuals or entities who have distinguished themselves in the research or dissemination of our culture within a specific field of knowledge. It is awarded to Joan Veny i Clar.

Pau Casesnoves Award

Intended for individuals or entities that have contributed to the claim or promotion of the identity markers of Inca. It is awarded to Miquel Àngel Suau.

Mossèn Pere Joan Llabrés Award

Intended for individuals and entities who have distinguished themselves through their contribution to the study, conservation, or promotion of Mallorca's archaeological, artistic, or cultural heritage. It is awarded to Francisca Truyol Fàbregas.

Maria Mercè Puig i Viñeta Award

Aimed at a woman or group of women who have contributed from any field to the promotion of their own language, culture, or identity. It is awarded to Eusèbia Rayó Ferrer.

The event will also feature a musical performance by RELLA, a duo formed by Cati Eva Canyellas and Maria Adrover, who will offer a sample of their musical project inspired by traditional Mallorcan singing, combining traditional sounds and rhythms with a contemporary sensibility.

From the Obra Cultural Balear de Inca, all citizens are invited to attend and participate in this gala, which year after year becomes a space for collective recognition and celebration of Mallorcan culture.
