PalmThe Congress Palace hosted the 14th edition of the Evolution Mallorca International Awards on Tuesday, honoring Hollywood star Steve Buscemi, who was honored for his career. Actress Ingrid García-Jonsson and director of photography Phedon Papamichael were also recognized before the opening film was shown.

The event, which started at 6:00 p.m. this Tuesday, honored Steve Buscemi, an actor who worked with Tarantino on Reservoir Dogs; with the Coen Brothers on Fargo, Barton Fink, and The Big Lebowski; as director of the best episode of The Sopranos; and on Boardwalk Empire, among many others.

Buscemi has received the Evolution Icon Award, which recognizes his lifetime achievement. Ingrid García-Jonsson will receive the New Talent Award. The actress is one of the most promising figures in Spanish cinema today and has worked on films such as Beautiful Youth, Ana de Dia, and Explota Explota. Finally, Phedon Papamichael, director of photography for films such as The Trial of the Chicago 7, Ford v Ferrari, and Nebraska, for which he won an Oscar, has received the Cinematography Icon Award, which the festival has presented to directors of photography for several years.
