The Moon in Verse is eclipsed by culture: 14 nights of music, poetry, and contemporary creation throughout Mallorca
The festival runs from June 20 to September 4 with offerings in Palma and various municipalities on the island, and premieres by Maria Arnal, Tarta Relena, and Gregotechno
PalmThe summer festival La Lluna en Vers returns in 2026 to Mallorca with a program of 14 nights of open-air culture spread across different points of the island and an image marked by the eclipse of August 12, which this year inspires the visual and symbolic narrative of the project.
From June 20 to September 4, the festival offers a season of concerts and shows that combine music, word, and artistic experimentation, with outstanding premieres and consolidated names from the contemporary scene. La Lluna en Vers maintains its commitment to decentralization and presence in the territory, with activities in spaces in Binissalem, Santanyí, Sant Joan, Montuïri, Artà, Lloret de Vistalegre, and Palma.
The festival, promoted by the Fundació Mallorca Literària, consolidates itself as one of the reference cultural events of the Mallorcan summer with a program that explores the links between tradition and innovation, from poetry to electronic music and artificial intelligence.
The eclipse as an artistic metaphor
This year, the visual proposal revolves around the moon and the eclipse as a metaphor for transformation and discovery. An idea that runs through a program that aims to “invite the discovery of new sonorities”, with premieres in Mallorca and projects that have already been presented on international stages.
One of the highlights will be the concert by Maria Arnal with Ama, a scenic proposal that integrates voice, movement, and artificial intelligence in collaboration with dancers from La Veronal. The show arrives in Mallorca after selling out in various European cities.
Projects such as Gregotechno, which fuses Gregorian chant and electronic music; Tarta Relena, with a journey through the Mediterranean and European mystical tradition; and Magalí Sare, who reflects on marriage and farewell rituals in Descasada, also stand out.
Poetic word, at the center of the festival
La Luna en Vers also reinforces this year the weight of poetry and dramaturgy. Proposals such as the Shakespearean recital Venus and Adonis, with Emma Vilarasau and Jordi Bosch, or the show dedicated to Blai Bonet within the framework of the author's centenary, with a choral cast that brings together names such as Mercè Sampietro, Sílvia Bel and Toni Gomila.
An approach to Jacint Verdaguer is also included with the proposal Sum vermis, which arrives in Mallorca after a successful tour in Catalonia.
